Marks and Spencer &More is 3.9% for life with no fee.

Depends how long you want to pay off the card? There are a limited number of fee free 0% cards about but they only last for 6 months.

    Hello

Does anyone know how long a late payment stays on your credit rating and more so what effect this has on the credit rating?

    Thanks

    Hi lucy7509

Welcome to the credit card board!

This is not a best balance transfer question. Please post again on the main credit card board. You'll get lots of replies there.

Looking at the previous post re M&S CC. My mortgage rate is around 6% so is it saving money for me to transfer my previous 0% BT to an M&S CC. i.e. are the interest rates comparable?

I overpay on my mortgage each month (I use the one account) and have circa £4.5k in a 0% running out in Jan. I don't really want to switch again in 6 months.

I was going to go for Barclaycard as I have a current account there, but I did not realise they treated the BT fee as a purchase - this make it a bad choice in my view.

    Cheers

I have an alliance and leicester card which ends its 0% in feb. I cant find acard which is not also owned by MBNA. I have done the equifax/moneysupermarket search which said my rating is 'fair' HELP! I need to transfer it cos it is 4k :( Its paying off a loan, not used for spends.

HSBC offering 0% BT until Jan 08....

They're not usually the harshest credit scorers....
  • Sorry but I posted this on the wrong board earlier.

Not sure about what to do here.

    Here goes.

I have £2400 on my current credit card, I want to transfer it to a new card with one of these 0% rates for 12 months if possible,I saw one for 3.9% until 2010 too which would suit, any ideas on the one to go for?

How do I do this, I am on incapacity benefit and total income is around £1000 per month, will this affect my application?

Does this offer mean I just pay say £50 per month and have no interest to pay for 12 months, (or 3.9% until 2010)...?

Really need some solid advice on this as my bill is due on Jan 4th 2007 and would like to transfer it before then.

    Thank you.

    Hi happydude742

I've answered this for you on the other board.

  • Thanks for your reply. I see that the Best No-fee BT list has already been amended! Ironic that the Smart card is also issued by Halifax!! I'll let you know how I get on.

Good news. Halifax/Marriott Rewards have refunded the 3% fee (£180) as a "goodwill payment".

I shall be more careful of T&Cs next time!

    Thanks for your help.
