left shopping in Primark....

Right.
I bought a bed throw, a laundry basket, 2 foldable boxes, a duvet set and two cushions. In Primark, Oxford Street.
I paid for all of that at the till, I get one shopping bag and I leave, all happy.
I get home, unpack and realize that the duvet set and two cushions are not with me, which means the woman at the till didn't give these to me (and she had put the bag with them on the floor next to her to wait for me to pay, I suppose).
I've got the receipt, I've paid for all the items but obviously didn't get them all.
It all happened today at 2-3pm. If I go back there tomorrow morning, will I have any chance of retrieving my shopping? Or are they just gonna tell me to get lost - because they could say I have those things at home and I'm trying to cheat them.
Or are they going to read some codes or what have you.
Please advise what to do...

I think you suppose wrong, I think you have not picked them up off the counter. She really wouldnt put them on the floor on HER side of the counter, they put the stuff in the bags on the counter, then do the paying business, you have just forgotten to pick them up.
If your lucky she will have realised and then put them to one side at the back hoping you will come back tomorrow.
Hope youre lucky.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

If you are UNLUCKY, the next customer in line may have noticed your error and is sleeping soundly tonight with your goods.0 -
In the first place I would ring the store when it opens to se if they were found. This would save a journey if they have disappeared.
Sorry to disapoint, but if they have disappeared, as this is just part of lifes rich tapestry.0 -

I think you would have had a better chance of retrieving them if you had rung the store straight away and not waited until the next day.0

my local Primark does that, the bags are their side of the counter and they fill them and hand them over as you pay.
But the OP has said that they had put the bag down on the floor by the till worker. This doesnt happen in shops."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
probably left them on the bushelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Considering the OP posted about a week ago, I'm sure she's sorted it out by now.Herman - MP for all!0

It does Jeff, certainly in Primark because of the way the counters are set up any bags of bulky items wont fit. They wont hand to the customer until payment is received so they put the bags on floor on their side of the counter.
Its largely just a primark phenomenon.0
