This annoys me too. There's a member on here who sells (I believe) a MSing guide, and says that s/he makes £100's/£1000's each week, but yet all you ever seem to see the poster talking about are little piddling RE jobs - wonder how many jobs s/he has to do to make as much money and s/he claims...?
You just have to take what some members on here say, with a pinch of salt.0 -
Have I missed something?
Has MS thread changed from Mystery Shopping to Modelling sniping?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I worked in offices for years, then had a change of direction and trained to be a nurse. I'm doing MS work at the moment as I can fit it around my training and around the kids. Work isn't easy to find as I am currently on my own with six children (well, one's at Uni) and this suits at the moment as I can choose my days and hours to a certain extent, sometimes even take my pre-schooler with me.
Like a lot of other posters, any jobs I have had over the years have not really been part of a big career plan, more a case of what I can do that will fit around the children, and MS'ing is no exception.
I have the occasional day when I think I enjoy it, and others when I wonder why I'm bothering (am wondering that atm!) I find the famine or feast aspect of the work difficult, when it's there I find it very hard to turn down as we badly need the money. Then I end up at 3 A.M. trying to finish reports and knowing I have to be up at 7. It's all about finding a balance I suppose, and I haven't yet!
That said, there's been good points, me and the kids have just got back from a young peoples hotel job, and had a really nice time, and my 16 year old has earnt a few quid doing some of the age check jobs, so I won't moan too much!
PS, haven't seen any RE jobs for a week now, am still paraniod it's just me!0 -

Why do you have to be so !!!!!y, there's just no need for it. I've no time for snidey people in real life, so why should people have to put up with it on what is supposed to be an OPEN and FRIENDLY forum?
Your 'Becky Brainee' 'spelling mistake' to me the other day seems a bit suspect now TBH, your spelling seems just fine the rest of the time.
There'a a few health shops on RE, why don't you go and get some oil of evening primrose before your next sly dig at some poor unsuspecting person.0 -
I'm a student and had been looking for a job for 2 years when I looked in the employment section of the newspaper, like I always did, and found an article about MSing. I was applying for everything going at the time, so was expecting to be rejected when I found something that sounded really good. The three companies it talked about were RE, Gfk & GAP, I decided to 'apply' for all three to boost my chances and was surprised when they all accepted me and let me start with no interview, proper work experience etc. About a month later I thought there may be other companies and so searched for more, I then went on to find the list on the MSPA website, lists on forums, mailing lists etc.
I do now have a proper part-time job but decided to continue MSing as it's extra income, and I enjoy it.0 -

Wow. Just having a laugh but I really am a nail tech and was a footballers wife back in Oz although he wasn't famous! I lied about the astronaught, I admit it. Why is everyone so defensive and uptight. Take some oil yourself to loosen up a bit.0 -
We knew you were lying about the "astronaught" the spelling gave it away
I don't think people are defensive or uptight -just commenting on how you came across (I'm sure you're lovely really)

Oh, I get it, make it everyone elses problem and not your own. Nice try. Not everyone finds it funny when people have a laugh at other peoples' expense. Which is exactly what you are doing no matter however you dress it up. When perhaps you should have apologised for attacking a fellow poster, you use her subsequent ones as an opportunity for another sly dig. Nice.
Each to their own, but in mentioning faults about other peoples character/ posts, all you are actually doing is highlighting your own.0 -
Ok, back on topic eh peeps?0
