Hi there, I'm new to MS and have registered for a few companies already. Many thanks for the info on this site - I'm going to get registering with as many as I can asap as per the advice.

Can anyone tell me if I'm likely to be able to make this a full-time job or if it's really just a 'top-up' job? Also, I'm based in Scotland so are there any companies particularly that have a lot of work here? Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

There's not really an answer to that as there's so many variables it's different for everyone and cant be worked out. Where you are, what you can work, how far you can travel, how many shoppers are in your area, etc, etc. I couldnt even tell you what I'm going to earn next week or next month because I dont know what work I'm going to get until I get it.

I certainly couldnt do it as a full time job without having to do a lot of travelling. I make the occasional big circuit but dont want to do it all the time. I could have stayed in my last job for that and earned a lot more money. I treat this as a part time job where I have some say in what, where, when I work. Thats enough for me.

I've been looking for home working jobs and copywriting jobs on the internet that I could do when my wee one is at school but a lot seem to be asking for money up front. Does anyone on here do anything like this too and do you know if these companies just take your money and run or if they are worthwhile?

    Thanks

Never pay money up front for work like that - thats how scams operate. Suggest you take time out to have a read of this board - there's plenty of opportunites out there, just a case of sorting the wheat from the chaff.

A string walks into a bar with a few friends and orders a beer. The bartender says, "I'm sorry, but we don't serve strings here." The string walks away a little upset and sits down with his friends. A few minutes later he goes back to the bar and orders a beer. The bartender, looking a little exasperated, says, "I'm sorry, we don't serve strings here."

So the string goes back to his table. Then he gets an idea. He ties himself in a loop and messes up the top of his hair. Then he walks back up to the bar and orders a beer.

The bartender squints at him and says, "Hey, aren't you a string?"

And the string says, "Nope, I'm a frayed knot."

    2. I did an overnight stay with a group of friends, supposedly all expenses paid. I'd sent my booking confirmation to the company before staying there, then submitted my full report afterwards which was passed to the client before someone noticed that I'd gone to the wrong location (there were two close together). So my £120 reimbursement was declined :( (I have to admit this did grate a bit because two days later the location I had visited came up for identical assignment and it seemed unlikely that my report couldn't be used for that...)

This assignment is still available on RE! It's driving me nuts! They're quite happy for someone to go through the whole rigmoral of booking a room, getting up there and spending the night, rather than pay me for an absolutely identical report filled out a week earlier than the assignment date :( Grumpy much!

They're even happy for me to shop it myself - how suspicious would that be? "Oh hi, yeah, nice to see you again, can you answer my specific question, um, again?".

I've opted to do a different location...
