Hi I'm a posting with a few simple questions for any experienced mystery shoppers on here.
I'm considering signing up myself but the FAQs don't seem to cover what I consider the important things.

1. Whats the average you get paid per job? (I realise it will vary I'm just asking for a ball park figure)
2. How often do you get assignments? (Again just a rough average)
3. Do you ever have to travel far or is it always somewhere you would travel for personal shopping?

Hopefully I'm not asking anything stupid but even between FAQs and this thread I can't seem to find clear answers regarding these issues and they are my main concerns before I actually sign up.

Thanks for reading.
Easiest thing to do to find out is to sign up to a few companies on the first page. You will then see what's available in your area, what the fees are and how far you will need to travel. Yes, it will take up some of your time, but we've all had to do it and 'no pain, no gain' etc.

None of the companies will force you to do the assignments after you've joined, so if you don't fancy them, then don't do them!

:)

I go along with cheekychipmunk's advice: sign up to some companies and try some assignments.

Mystery Shopping certainly does not suit everyone, but you won't know until you try. I know of many people who have done a few jobs and then decided to call it a day!

My other piece of (obvious) advice is: don't expect to get rich quick! Mystery Shopping is generally quite poorly paid, especially for new shoppers. In the early days, assignments and their reporting may well take you longer than you expect them to. Furthermore, until you have some experience, you will not get many opportunities to pick and choose assignments (certainly not from the "more professional" Mystery Shopping companies, anyway). Bear in mind that most of us started out like this, and some of us actually make a (sort of) living out of Mystery Shopping.

Good luck!

I don't know, but I do have a ball of green string in my garden shed. Would you like me to go and measure it for you?
Only if you can also photograph it from three different angles, thanks.;)

We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com

Lol

Good job it wasn't for RE as you would have had an email asking if you took one from each angle or something equally ridiculous

Proofing enquiry

How did measuring and photographing the string make you feel?
• Yep, I can do that for you.

Is it any wonder you get all the premium assignments?!
• Yep, I can do that for you.

Photographs rejected, I'm afraid. ;)

The photographs do not show clearly that the string is actually green and that it all came from the same ball, or, indeed, that all three photographs are of the same string observed on the same occasion. Without valid photographs, your results will not be approved. You have not given a valid estimate of the length of the string. Also, although not specifically asked in the brief or original questionnaire, the client does need to know the thickness of the string.
• Yep, I can do that for you.

Please submit a clearer image with the job id clearly displayed in front of the string.

hey guys and gals
just been allocated LOTS of edigital surverys
but the first section on some says..."Please take a screen grab of the page you are viewing and email it to info@edigitalresearch.com. Then go to the website homepage and answer this section. Please do not go further than the homepage."

does that mean take a print screen of the survey page or the website homepage :S

thanks [=
xxxxx
I also have lots, but no mention of screen grab; could somebody explain how to do it?
Also, I have only just started with edigital; I am getting surveys that fit my profile rather than ones I am waiting in queue for.
Do they offer them across the board or do certain people get priority?
• Yep, I can do that for you.

You also didn't write 'String' under each picture to explain what the pictures are of. You know, just incase it accidently gets uploaded under the 'Receipt' or 'Shop' sections and the proof readers can't tell which is which.
