In Need of A Car

Hi
I am looking for advise on how to obtain a car, I work 3 bus rides away from work and my current vehicle has failed MOT and is worthless !
I have the worst credit rating possible and have no family or freinds I can borrow off.
I have considered leasing but this again looks impossible with a bad credit rating and those that do need a hefty deposit! Im happy to drive anything (not fussy) as long as it has tax and M.O.T of course !
Any suggestions anybody? I certainly wont consider payday loans !
Thanks

Try Freecycle. I've seen them given away on there; we gave one away ourselves a few months ago!0

If you work, you have a good chance of getting finance from a main dealer. This is what I was told when enquiring, as the car is on HP it is easier to obtain.
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
Thank you for the replies, yes I work, I have a resonably paid job and have been there for over 7 years, so stable employment !
I will ask on Freecycle now - fingers crossed.0 -

Plenty of cheap reliable cars in your local papers around to see you through until you can by something decent £500 and if it last for for 5 months had your moneys worth cant go wrong really, find some one with a little knowledge to go and see them with you.0

I have posted on Freecycle and would be more than happy to buy a £500 from my local paper if I had the money, this is what I intend to do once I have saved up enough.
Can anyone recommend a car finance company offering to people with a poor credit history?0 -
Try gumtree, forget about the age of the car as if you buy the right car you'll more than get your moneys worth, go for something german ie vw, audi. There are cars about for around £200. Surely better than being tied down with what will be horrendous interest rates.
Thats just my view, a car is imo a very bad thing to get with credit, not far behind food shopping.0 -

there are plenty car finiance companys out there willing to give you money but the interest rates are sky high. We fell into this trap because we were desperate and i think our interest rate is about 49.5%. 2 yrs and ours is paid off, cant wait.0

Hi
I usually have money ! recently seperated paying for 2 houses, single mum etc...I work full-time, taking 2 buses to work and back would mean I don't physically have enough hours in the day.
Cash flow is only a problem for the next couple of months, I need either a free car from freecycle etc for the next couple of months while I save £500-£700 to buy comething else or I am considering HP, if I can find something around £100-£150 per month.
I have looked at rental, but looking at the costs this would be a big no-no - dead money !!!
HELP !!! :-)0
