I'm not going to be able to overpay my overpayments this month. I do a fresh budget every month and I messed this one up. It's going to be a lean last couple of weeks of the month.

It's partly because I've set some money aside for Christmas presents and socialising, so at least there'll be a reward at the end of it.

You need to look on the bright side here though. You might not be able to overpay but you are not getting further into debt and your budget is covering nice things too. You are still doing so well.

Yes you're absolutely right. It just feels a it weird to be putting money aside for spending instead of against the loan.

I need to adjust my mindset- I need to make my usual monthly payments of £950 and feel great about, not feel bad I couldn't pay off more!

Debt-busting is always harder at this time of year.

It's a bummer. I'm not a big spender at Christmas but I do like to celebrate and have fun and Champagne with the family.

We managed a debt free Christmas last year and I'm determined to do it again this year.

  • Oooh haven't posted in a while.

Back from holidays (which was great!) and back into PADding. Have paid £996 against debt this month which I'm pretty please with given we had a great time away and I've bought over half my Christmas presents.

Under £10k to Natwest! Very pleased with that.

I'm also being brave and upping my monthly payments so that my new DFD is November 2012.
