my boiler is an old worcester (bosch)combi and two days ago it started to make a load of banging noises, not from the boiler but sounded like it was coming from the pipes that run from the boiler up to the ceiling,after hearing it the first day i bled the rads and topped up the boiler thinking (hoping)that it would solve the prob,last night it woke me from my sleep it was that loud,,money as always is really tight,,we just had a new baby come home and i am worried to turn it on in case its leaking some poisenous gas going to kill eveyone.can anyone shed some light please?????????????????????????????????

I had something similar a few years back with the banging and it turned out not to be the boiler but the metal bit on the external vent of boiler-sorry I know that it is not very technical! It had just come loose and was flapping. Engineer came and siliconed/stuck it back job done. The noise it made was horrendous I guess it was just the vibrations.
