Used/secondhand wedding dress - would you?

Ooh that's so cheeky! I'd have said No!!
Really?? If I'd been trying to sell something for over six months and someone offered me the asking price minus £50 in cash then I'd def say yes! Her advert did say 'or very nearest offer' and I know she'd had other people look at it and not buy.
I'd say we both got a good deal!0 -
where does it say anything about me wearing it, theoretical point of view0

But a man wouldn't say something like that as if they were going to wear the dress.
And I don't know any men who would say they are a bridezilla because they don't want anyone else to look nicer than them on the day.
Face it, you're only here to stir up trouble, so naff off.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Shell, a man would say anything when trying to sell fake dresses on Ebay and had their posts removed0

I sold my Maggie Sottero dress on Preloved a few weeks ago, it cost £1100 new and I put £500 asking price, and got £450. Personally I think the lady got a pretty good deal as it had been professionally cleaned which cost over £100 and was all boxed up properly. But then, as another poster said it does make all the difference if its your dress your talking about!
Both the ladies that came to try it on (it didn't fit the first one sadly) travelled for a couple of hours to get here which also bumps up the overall price, so worth taking that into account as well as the asking price0 -

*penny drops*
I knew I knew the name! I reported them twice the other day for trying to palm off the replica dress here, reported them on eBay too for keyword spamming.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
i have not or am not selling any dress on ebay...fact, but i know what your referring to.
I would also not like to divert the talk of this thread apologies, my comment was a little OTT0 -
I'm not sure my dress is classed as used really but it is £1k to buy from the bridal shops (some charge up to £1200) I'm buying a sample dress from a bridal shop that franny found for me online but I live nowhere near it.
I've never seen it in the flesh I got her to send me pics but haven't seen it if that makes sense.
I paid £550 for it and it's arriving tomorrowshe's sending it by courier I can't wait to get it but I also feel a little nervous at the thought of it

I got my Maggie dress on eBay for £300 (retail in the shop where I initially tried it on is £800).
I received it a few weeks ago and apart from a bit of the hem having come down ever so slightly (which you can't see obviously as it's under the dress! - and I can get it fixed anyway!), you'd never know it wasn't brand new. There isn't a dirty mark on it anywhere, no beads missing that I can see. I wasn't able to go try it on as it was down in Exeter I think and I'm in Nottingham. If it had been closer then I would have. But it fits perfectly (luckily as it's a corset back, those are a bit more flexible than zip backs, obviously) and I have no problem with wearing a 'preloved' dress.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Hi
Just to say thanks for all your advice (and the interesting troll posts!). I went and bought the dress today, it was in perfect condition and to be honest I just paid the price she wanted because she was really nice had been v helpful. While we were chatting as she helped me get the dress on I found out she was a student, and I just felt I was happy to pay the price, and that she probably needed the extra money I could have haggled more than I do...
Prob and bit soft and not very moneysaving, but it felt right, and I am delighted with my "bargain" dream dress!!
Thanks again!0
