Any experience of Bulgarian rentors?

Ive worked in Bulgaria for a number of months.

I found the people to be polite, courteous and friendly. There are of course cultural differences .. but nothing stands out to be "wary" of.

Its the luck of the draw with neighbours as you know. Most people these days will live in road where some of the property is rented .. its a very UK outlook to look down on people who rent. So I wouldnt let that bother me.

How was your gut reaction to this lady ? i.e. did you warm to her (steady!) or was there anything that was a miss ?

Where all individuals, and as long as there has not been a long running neigbourly dispute detailed by your vendor then i'd just move in and see how it goes.

I have got to the bottom of my neighbours-to-be enquiries. Today I boldly knocked on the door of the house next door to the property I am buying of which I had had a few concerns about. A lady answered and I came out with some story about checking out neighbourhood as looking to buy in area etc.

Anyway, she is Bulgarian and has lived there a month renting....

I have no problems with people renting but I dont have experience of Bulgarian people. I spoke to another neighbour who told me they also have two children (again, I am not bothered by children before you ask!)

Has anybody ever letted their house to Bulgarian people? I dont want this to sound racist or anything, just curious if they have any funny habits/rituals at odd times of day or if will be cooking weird concoctions likely to waft my way?

Ohmigod you've really got me worried! I'm black, one neighbour's Asian, the other's white, previous neighbour was Italian. Think I'd better bolt my doors and windows!!!

Sarcasm obviously. Knocked & introduced ourselves, no covert operation to check them out, moved in, get on great.

Your Bulgarian neighbour might well be sitting worried about her house reeking of your fish & chips but somehow I doubt it!

Thanks for your replies, I know it was OTT but my ignorance was clearly showing. I did speak to her WindyMiller and found her very polite and quite shy. I guess my post was uncalled for and I apologise if it caused offence.
