If anyone's concerned about tickets being cancelled, I guess their best bet is to choose (when ordering) to collect them from their nearest FastTicket machine rather than wait for them to be delivered in the post. I picked mine up from my local station yesterday to be on the safe side - I can't see how my tickets can be cancelled now I've got them but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, the tickets I collected have the original price before the 50% discount on them, though of course the order confirmation clearly states that my card has been debited with half that amount. I don't imagine there's a problem but as the money hasn't been debited from my account yet I can't confirm.0 -

where do i click add?
I found this confusing too - I couldn't find it, or anywhere to type in a promotional code for that matter. It's not necessary though - as long as you get to the site by using the link, when you get to the basket page (step 6 of 7) the discount is already applied. (Though if you want to order tickets using a railcard it's a bit trickier.)0 -
Agree with Fatal Swan, you are best off (if it isn't too difficult) to pick the tickets up from a FastTicket machine. A little tip I realised yesterday is that a) although you specify a specific FastTicket machine location you don't have to use that machine and b) you don't need the card you booked with to pick them up as it seems to accept any debit card.
The first point was from a member of Scotrail staff so I can't confirm it 100% but the second definitely works as I picked up some tickets yesterday using two different cards, neither of which the booking was made with. So, if you know someone who would find it more convenient to pick the tickets up all they, theoreticaly, need is the booking ref.0 -
Thanks for this folks, saved me £19.50 on a trip I had planned for my daughters birthday. One happy costcutter.0

I saved dh`s work £83.50 and 1.20 on two tickets on a local train to go to the Grand designs show at NEC in the morning. Tikets were free on the magazine too so will just have to try not to buy anything there!0

AHH Its stopped working!
I'd managed to book 25 tickets (booking to and from uni individually as wouldn't accept payment for more than one at a time) and all of a sudden it says...
Unfortunately your access to this resource has timed out
Tried deleting cookies, creating a new account etc and nothing works!
Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any ideas??
PS If it is still working for anyone you know you can use autofill to fill in credit card details, which saves LOADS of time.0 -
i've just been having a quick look on the megatrain website... there are some amazingly cheap fares. You can go to Manchester to Picadilly to Oxenholme for £1, trouble is I want to go to Lancaster (which is know is on the route) but it says in large writing there are penalty fares if you alight at other stops... but how would they know??
Has anyone used megatrain and got off at a different stop? Has anything happened? Cheers0 -
