I hope I have posted this in right section, first post!
I am travelling to cuba next week and would like to know if there is anyway i can reduced my call cost back to the uk. I don't want to have to depend on getting calling card when out there. My phone is currently locked to orange although but I could use an 02 phone if that would be cheaper. Many thanks in advance.

I'd just do without calling...
Mobile communication is not great in Cuba, it's at it's best in the main tourist areas.
Having a browse through other forums, they tend to suggest not bothering with mobiles (get away from the hassle's of back home and work for a week or 2)

The reason it's expensive is that because of the US embargo they can't connect to an undersea from Florida to Mexico which passes close to Havana, and until a much longer link to Venezuela is installed all international calls go via a satellite link instead
