Anyway, im not trying criticise... I simply don't understand how the cambelt could have gone if the car had it's maintenance done on schedule.
On a 10 year old car it (cambelt + tensioners) should have been changed at least twice.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

To the later poster, sort a decent, (not easy) breakers engine. If you can't get very close to the 1k£ value of your car car, inc fitting, start again. Sorry, it's not real sense assuming your car has no other issues, but has to be the general advice.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

A yearly service is very different to a major service, yearly considt of oil, filters and plugs - every major service contains all the above plus new belts and tensioners
I had an 04 plate RenaultSport Clio 182 and the cambelt snapped at 20k, the reason behind it is that the 2.0 F4R engine it uses has the aux belt so close to the cam belt and when i snapped it took out my cam belt
They fixed it free of charge though with a new engineIf Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0
