Nope. If he'd been planning on buying it, he might have remembered to look for a discount voucher, but he was in town and saw it and decided to pick it up then!

I made the cheesecake. Had some last night and it's very nice. I also made another recipe from the book which is a chocolate refridgerator cake made with broken up Crunchie bars and salted peanuts. That's yummy too. :)

Yes have to agree, have succumbed to the cheesecake today and it is delicious, it even looks exactly as it does in the book and on the programme which is always a bonus, a definite winner.

We also have the spanish chicken for tea last night out of the book (the recipe with chorizo and orange) that too was very easy and yummy, off to see what else we can make now:T

  • I love Nigella's recipes and her way of describing things but I have to fight the urge to turn over as the sound of her voice grates on me (my fault, not judging, lol). I regularly make her old ham in coke recipe and would love her books but have none as yet (just cannot justify the cost when there are other things like school shoes and house renovations to take precedence!). I have a pack of gnocchi (mr T's, 75p) to fry tonight instead of roast potatoes to go with the rosemary and garlic leg of lamb I got up early this morning to sear and put on low in the slow cooker, finger's crossed...

Did anyone else see the crustless pizza and think it looked and sounded weird?

i've made the devils food cake twice now but have slightly adapted it to be dairy free and it is yummmmy!

it's the first choc cake i've ever been able to eat because of my dairy allergy, but the rest of the family have loved it aswell and said it was excellent.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!
  • ok, so this weekend I have made the Maple Pecan Bundt cake and the lemon polenta cake, both are yummy but the lemon polenta cake did not need the amount of time in the oven she states as it was burnt on the top when i took it out!!! so had to scrape the burnt top off before we could eat it, very nice xx

That polenta cake is something I want to make, it looks lovely. Did it sink much in the middle?

I did this and it was very nice for a kids tea. Not mad on pizza myself but this was surprisingly tasty
