Tesco mobile - dont do it!!!

Sorry but I've got to have a rant.
I've had mobile ever since they've offered the things on contracts.
I've had Cellnet, Voda, Orange, T Mobile, Virgin Mobile, both on contracts and PAYG.
I have web access to just about every utility you could envisage and work from a computer all day running a web based business.
I know what I'm doing and am not a numpty.

But in all my time I've NEVER seen anything as shoddy, poorly operated, slapdash, terrible, useless, pathetic and utterly and totally frustratingly rubbish as TESCO MOBILE.

I mean it took me about a whole day to figure out to port a number over, then took them about a week to do it. I set up an automatic top up that doesn't work. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to a person, IT IS Virtually impossible to figure out what number you are meant to phone.The system gives out PUK codes when all you wanted was to speak to a human. The website asks for a different code to the one you gave them. The top up process is IMPOSSIBLY long winded. The liest goes on. I would LOVE to complain to them, but unfortunately it is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to a person. (NO DOUBT DUE TO PEOPLE TRYING TO GET THROUGH TO COMPLAIN/ ASK HOW THE HELL THEY ARE MEANT TO USE THE SERVICE)

If you are considering TESCO mobile please please please. DONT DO IT!!!!

    A couple of colleagues have just PAc'd to tesco mobile sim only, and neither have had the experience you describe :o
  • The prices and offers are good. The service (in my opinion) is diabolical.
    Wait until they have to phone them for something. If they manage to get through to a human being, and that person can actually help them, I'd be shocked.
    Virgin Mobile do a sim only £10 a month with ample minutes, that'd be my choice for a low cost option now. I wouldn't touch Tesco Mobile with a barge pole.

    I just got through to customer care on 0845 301 4455 is this the number you used?
    They do say on the sales line that they are experiencing delays but I got through in minutes.
    Be careful with Virgin, my friend has one and she doesn't get reception anywhere!
