NPower may look cheap ont he surface, But they offer an underhand billing system with lots of hidden charges. Avoid!
Npower could have offered a 4 hour time slot, as this is possible however due to the timeframes in place with ALL suppliers, we ALL have to give National Grid just as much notice to go out and do a job, therefore the quickest job type is a ALL day app to uncap the meter on a D + 5 working days job. (we would have chased up to find out why NG didn't go out for you and then, if found to be at fault then you would have received a £20 Goodwill payment)
Also on the mention of out of hours prepayment support, On the statements which are sent out, it displays the powerloss or emergency numbers to contact when out of hours, Most suppliers don't have an out of hours support.0 -
...because it should save me nearly £200 a year, though I worry because when I was with them a few years ago they signed me up twice and kept sending us double bills, even after they'd been told to stop it.
Ste1985: I don't suppose I could get your direct line? I worry I may need someone who always gives 100% and goes the extra mile.0 -
"Yes Npower target employee's on call talk time and wrap time"
No they don't
AHT was removed sometime ago, aftercall or wrap time is still monitored but that's mainly because you are not talking to customers in that time. As long as you are not taking the p with it its ok.
Yes I work from NPower for my sins, what can I say I like a challenge.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -

The problem is that many do not know it is on that statement and it is not always to hand, also with the increase in rental properties people move more frequently so may not actuall get an annual statement so your customers do not know how to actually speak to someone out of hours who can actually make the arrangements for a metering engineer to attend and it is only the gas supplier who can do that so can you supply National Grid with the out of hours number or leave it on your answer machine as when customers have a problem the first thing they do is call you on the first number they find which is your general number or they call the gas emergency service - providing the number in the two ways I mention would be most helpful to all involved and speed up a resolution to the problems they are experiencing with their prepayment meters .
Many suppliers have messages on there ansaphones on what to do if their offices are shut or provide contact details npower does not and that is the company being discussed in this thread. Please can you add Npowers emergency contact number to the thread linked below and admin could you make same thread sticky

Why not send the info re the out of hours no to the NPower Company Represantive? Yes there is one, although I didn't notice for a month or so. I'm just here in my freetime to try to help people.
BTW I used to work in a bank, and what I saw and heard there was much more horrifying than the dreaded power company.
If you are on the ball then you should be ok and realize the saving. In all honesty I've had four bills so far, only half were right. One was so wrong I could not make head nor tail of it. The figures just did not tally with the totals. Things ARE improving, but from such a low base that's not really a surprise!Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -

In fact Accuread came out to uncap the supply. The manager told me that he would have to authorise this for me and that it would cost NPOwer extra to use Accuread (they could offer a 4 hour appointment slot).
This all happened in the winter after I moved in to a council home. There was no heating facilities in the home at all in really cold weather. I also hadn;t fully moved in because my tenancy with a private landlord was still running at that time. Therefore I had to lie on the stone-cold floor in a stone-cold flat for a whole day only for NPower (or their representative) to not turn up with no phone-call to let me know this would be the case. To be honest with you, i totally sympathize, It's very frustrating i know, and especially in the winter that we have just had, National Grid were really stugling with Manpower to go to all apointments,Not that it's an excuse. Also with it being a DECOM/RECOM job it would be DAY +2 on an all day app or Day + 5/6 for a AM or PM appointment.
Yes Now i understand it would have had to go to a TM to get authorisation for an accuread as its more than twice the cost of a National Grid job Not 100% but from what i remember it costs over £60 per Accuread job. But again remembering that im a human being just the same as you, it would really annoy me too, same as when your waiting in for a delivery that never arrives!
OUT OF HOURS NUMBER: On this Subject it has already been mentioned to the company to have this put onto the automated service for out of hours but it hasn't been done yet, we have fed this back to them. National Grid is easy to contact... you would just calll the one number but for the electric, as there is 13 different regions, they have to supply the number for all 13 regions, and alot of people are unsure of which region there in and end up contacting the wrong company anyways (although they would be pointed in the right direction then) But i know as a company they are looking into this.0 -
