Can I get an item not received notice though?

I had it listed as collection only, cash on collection.

Yes they could reclaim their money through paypal for item not received, but then all that would happen is that their money is returned and you keep the item.

You can offer cash on collection, but you can't insist on it, so it might be best to actually sort this out with the buyer by phoning them. If they don't want it refund their oney and go for a mutual (you can't do an NPB).

  • The address on Paypal is a confirmed address. I've just googled and it is a place of work plus the (female) name of a person.

The email address on paypal and the user ID on Ebay are male.

Also only one transaction on ebay in the last 12 months.

How do I get their details from Ebay please Soolin?
  • But I've done a NPB soolin?

Sorry I missed that. In that case the mutual can't be done so you just need to contact buyer by phone and be persistent about getting the thing collected.

Obviously you still have the issue of the epaypal on collection scam, but there is no way round that now and anyway, a scammer is usually pretty quick to get the goods in hand and wouldn't leave it like this.

  • I have now emailed to the place of work.

I may have to phone as well, as you suggest Soolin.
  • But I've done a NPB soolin?

This is why you should have gone for the mutual. If they didn't reply you get your fees back and if they didn't want the item they could have replied to the dispute saying this and you get your fees back. If they paid then you're in the same postition as you are anyway.
  • I got an email back from the place of work.

Apparently it's a H and W; they've been away; they want to collect this weekend.

So hopefully it will all be sorted by then...

    Thanks again to all posters!:)

  • i personally would refund the money and say "cash on collection only" - If they collect they can still chuck in a "not recieved" and because you cant prove they got it (a signature isnt enough apprently!) then you'll lose your item AND money

Surely then the buyer will just neg the OP and do a non performing seller complaint? OP gets to pay the FVFs and loses his listing fees and if he is a small seller may well end up with enough warnings on his dashboard to get a temporary suspension.

    Sellers cannot refuse paypal.
