I did get a bit agitated with one resident expert who thinks reading something makes them an authority. I also reacted to a post having a go at my manner. What does that matter? I'm either right or wrong, and in this case I'm right.
I can't see anything her I've writen which is out of order, apart from having a go at someone's grammar. My advice would be to wait until I post something useless, then have a crack.
If the forum is just for nattering housewives loving each other up, then I've misunderstood.

You could try buying the clothes cheap on eBay itself, I got this website Bargain Checker in a newsletter, which finds misspellings of stuff - no idea how easy that would be though

Mac, I'm not sure why erring on the side of caution as regards ambiguous advice from HMRC and registering within the 3 month deadline is the wrong advice. Soo told me we might be wrong with the three month limit, what I could find on the HMRC website was ambiguous but there is no need to disrupt the thread by trying to antagonise people you don't seem to get on with.

I don't understand why you've suddenly gone off on one either but if it's me you're after, then you're not going to hound me off the site, so I would just shut up if I were you, because that's not going to happen. I make a point of noting in my sig I don't have a lot of practical experience, but as I am in training to be an accountant (just about to finish the exams, which include a lot about business law) and hopefully will go on to do a law course, I feel I can at least contribute to the discussion and maybe post a link or two to a relevant website. This is good practice for me in trying to give advice; hopefully I will end up getting paid for it, but since that's not happening yet, and I'm not fully qualified, I make that clear. I'm only thirty, I am not an entrepreneur and don't want to sell for a living. I'm a better book-keeper than I am salesperson, so it's not for me. That's why I didn't bite the bullet and become a dealer.

If you're upset about what I said in another thread regarding my own selling on eBay, that's OK, I can understand how what I said might be construed in the way you chose to interpret it, but I did know what the limit to what I could do was and like most private collectors have given up doing what I did do because eBay is much stricter than it used to be as regards people who look like they are businesses when in fact they are not (for example, people selling off collectables bought for their own purposes in good faith). Whatever you have against people here, it doesn't make me automatically unable to read things on websites and post the information here, and from what I've seen, I think people are getting a bit tired of your ragging. I've got you on ignore, so I don't automatically read your posts, but I can see what you're saying from quoted posts and I think you are being very aggressive towards me and towards other people.

What on earth is wrong with you people? First - disrupt the thread? Who gave correct info and who gave incorrect info? There is no ambiguity - you have three months to register.That's not disruption. That was sound advice, partially obscured by someone who had "heard" differently. Promptly joined by yourself. Slightly annoying yes - upsetting no.
Secondly, my comments on the other thread were a fairly gentle wind up, not at all aggressive. I believe on that subject you were hoist by your own petard as you are quite fond of lecturing business sellers.
I sincerely wish you every success with your studies, but I also know you will find the real world tougher than waffling on here.
Finally, trying to hound you off the site? That is ridiculous. I tried to point out that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. If you had taken the time to read the advice leaflet from HMRC, you would have been better informed. By me, for free. Thank me later.If you wish to read an aggressive post, have a look at your own - "shut up" etc. Tut.
