Jo, if my experience of stickercharts is a guide, three days. After which you, or they, will forget, and the unused sticker chart will hang around on the fridge for 2 months as a sad remonstration of your lack of consistency until you finally bin it and resolve next time to carry the plan through.
Now, I just yell at the kids, seems to work fine;)Trying to keep in budget.

DS managed to get up and ready straight away today (he is 13 though!). He even got his cooking stuff ready and chopped up the ingredients beforehand. This a complete first.
I'll just pass out in shock :rotfl:This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Sparkles, any day that includes porridge, is not a rubbish food day (not a very yummy food day though :rotfl:).
bought a sticker chart yesterday and one of the aims is 'get ready for school as soon as mum asks' and yesterday they both earned a sticker.....wonder how long that novelty will work for
xx
I know fay's away but be careful what you say about porridge jo, there's a lot of them about:D
Just had a thought that what are my targets and smilies if not an adult form of sticker chart??
You'll know that schools operate on them very successfully (house points etc) it just needs persistence...or constant vigilance. Everyone loves a pat on the back.0 -
I have a dilemma and it's doing my head in so I would like your honest opinions.
My neighbour, lovely in every way, no trouble etc etc, has 2 vans and 2 cars. They have a drive that can fit 3 plus a mini drive on their front garden for one. So why do they park outside my house!!
It spoils the view from my window, today the road sweeper came and had to miss outside my house. Their drive is empty save for one of the cars (both at work) It makes getting out of my drive difficult (blocks view of road). I know I should just say can you not park in front of my house but I'm not great at that kind of thing.

Can't you just ask nicely if they wouldn't mind putting one of the cars in the empty mini drive as it would be then easier to get out of your drive. If they are nice I am sure they would understand.
Food: muesli for brekkie, bagel with brie, hoummus and cucumber for lunch. No idea about tea. Probably end up buying ready made bangers and mash from coop."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Could it be that it would take some manoevring (sp) to get out of their own drive (remember 'Butterflies'? When the dad went to work the two sons screeched their cars off the drive to let him out). COuld be that its just easier to get out. MIght explain why they do it....
That doesn't solve your problem though. Maybe say that while you don't mind them parking there, as its perfectly legal and everything, could they, if possible, put the vans on the drives? Then your view isn't spoiled as much
That's me. Hellbent on compromiseNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

I agree Lurks that it is much easier for them this way. I can see why they do it, but like you say doesn't help me!
I will have to take some deep breaths and go talk to them. Thanks.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I'd be all passive aggressive and park in front of my house for a few weeks. At least i'd be looking at my own car which I like.Trying to keep in budget.
