Sounds lovely BHB - Liquid Smoke though? Que? :o

I gave up on the idea of the slow cooker for tea cooking tonight after the power went off for over 2 hours earlier - I have no faith it won't go again so felt that oven (gas!) was a safer bet "just in case" - so, there is now a casserole dish in there with lamb neck bones, some sliced onion, pearl barley, garlic, rosemary, a couple of bay leaves and some veg stock. That will sit in there and simmer away nicely to itself until it's time to eat it. I'll probably pop a rice pudding in the oven a bit, too as it's hot anyway, and make some apple compote with some of the cooking apples I got cheap! :D

All is really kicking off now. I went to bed early last night and we ended up having a text barney. Just had another one this afternoon, I now have RSI of the thumbs.

I feel that tonight will be truely awful. But he has at last understood the severity of the situation.

    So very hungry I am.

Be strong jo, we'll be thinking of you. I read somewhere that it's a good idea to prepare your message, stick to it and keep repeating yourself until the message sinks in. Don't be distracted by going all around the houses, answering irrelevant questions etc.

Oh and have something to eat, you neeed to maintain energy levels. ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM!!!!

I have been very good this year and haven't bought lunch from the canteen not once :) So yestaday and today had tuna salad with cheese sandwich. Evening meal was some chicken type quorn bits in tomato sauce, pasta and frozen veggies. Not very haute cuisine but does the job. (And ther are two portions for my lunches in the freezer ;))

Going to pop a chicken and asparagus pie in the oven tonight so can take some for my lunch tomorrow.

Jo - you go girl :j
