Pips, are you still snowed in up there or are you allowed to get off the island yet?

Had roast lamb last night, or rather they did, I went out for lunch with a friend, steak fajitas  so was still stuffed at dinnertime.

Right, off to work, kids broke up last week so will be nice and quiet in the office, radio on, filing to be done, bliss :)

Latte and toasted tea cake for brekkie :p

Bit of a snowy thing going on here as well. There is only two of us in my team that managed to get in to day so far.

BF roasted a chicken yesterday so I and DD can now rubberise it for the rest of the week. He also left me with some rather nice duck liver pate and brie cheese, nom nom nom...

Potential MIL is being a bit akward. We told her that we would like to have a Finnish twist on the xmas meal this time and now she has gone and got a turkey. So I said to BF to ask her which day she wants her turkey and we do the pork then on the other day. Off to google the potato thingamy that we normally serve at xmas...

:santa2: morning all. Baked beans here for breakfast. DD1's birthday today so off out soon to hairdresser and then into Winchester for maybe lunch and some light shopping. I think we may have more snow later so need to watch the sky. I don't want to be stuck on M3!!

Do tell us about the potato dish marru, I'd like to know about a Finnish Christmas.

  • Loving your pics on FB Pippi - keep 'em coming!

Just made muffins for OH's breakfasts so the flat is smelling lovely. Might struggle not to eat one of those myself when they come out of the oven! Been quite a cooking-ey few days as I invited the parents over for tea last night without thinking about what I was going to cook......knocked up a HM pizza, some winter-slaw (beetroot, carrot, red cabbage) and some mini toad-in-the-holes which went down well. Made some biscuits for afters which went down even better! :D

Lunch here today will be a ham roll with the remains of the winter-slaw, crisps and fruit. Dinner tonight is pot-luck stew - three pots from the freezer all of which contain the leftovers from a pot of stew - lob 'em in a pan, heat 'em up, throw in the tiny bit of yesterday's belly pork, and hope it tastes OK!

Hope everyone is managing to keep warm and snug in spite of the snow and general dodgy conditions. They STILL haven't gritted any of our roads - even the main A road into town has been ignored this time so MrEH had a 'mare getting to the motorway this morning. *rolls eyes*
