Thought I had better pop my head over the wall and say Hi. :hello:

No real reason for not posting apart from losing a few, and life getting in the way!;)

Today spent all day at an appeal hearing over the illegal travellers site which appear near us over a weekend last July. I got nominated as spokesperson, don't say it!:D

Just going to go and watch TV and knit. Made the cable curvy scarf over the last couple of nights and now finishing a baby jacket.

Dinner today was a repeat of yesterday, never got out of habit of dong two meals at once if possible, This was some Lidl stewing meat done in the SC with peppers, mushrooms, carrots and parsnips, served with mash and cabbage, follow by parkin made at the weekend with a burnt bottom. NO do not believe if wasting it will do as puddings for a few days! Madea cherry cake at the same time, and that is good, I put the silicone tray onto a metal baking tray and that is why I think it burnt.

((hugs)), spoons, good wishes all round, together with :bdaycake: for Master EG, and all other birthday/anniversaries missed:o

    Take care DG

    evening

a non OS post here:oI'm afraid.
just got back from collecting DS2 from Morrisons. He's not had a good day:( he's failed 2 'mot' tests on the tills - no eye contact, not striking up a conversation and various other things. He has valid points for some of the things they mentioned but didn't get chance to put his point across.
He decided not to tell them about his autistic tendencies when he applied as he wanted a 'fair chance' at getting a job and thought he wouldn't get a look in if he mentioned it. He is on the very mild end of the spectrum. I'm going to ring and talk to them tomorrow to see if we can sort something out. Poor lad is really down tonight:( just when we thought it was all going so well.
Am right fed up now. Nothng else to report, just wanted to get it off my chest.

    take care all x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • taplady sorry to hear that DS has had problems, a lot could be down to the training that he has recieved he will only be as good as his teacher.
Personally when I first started work in a supermarket I hated the tills and I wouldn't want to be back on them ever again

  • Hello chums, well went to the dentist this morning, and it was good , 'just a clean and polish ' said my smashing dentist.Love it when he says that, hopefully only three more days in bandages,I am hoping my new arm-sleeve comes tomorrow,in which case it will be on by Thursday which would be even better.
I made a big Sc casserole of shin of beef today and it was delicious as I used up lots of spare veggies from the freezer, four portions ready to be frozen for later in the month.

  • Evening everyone

A late one from me, been to my Spanish class tonight, really enjoying it, although I struggle with the pronunciation.

Not much os today, dh made Hungarian goulash for dinner, it was lovely. Our puppy buttons is doing well with his training and has done really well today only 1 accident. But still mopping floors due to muddy paws!! Took him out for a walk today and we met some guide dogs in training, he ran away a little then scampered back and decided to be brave until both dogs approached him at once.

Taplady- hope you manage to sort everything out for your ds, don't think I could do checkouts, I can't even manage the self scanning things.
    Happy birthday to essexgirl ds
csarina - hope you have a nice break.
Butterflybrain - hope you go on ok at your hosp appt.
jayward - nice to see you posting.

Sorry if I have missed anyone. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one.
    Take care

Hello all. I'll just leave these hugs here, help yourselves to any if you want them. Thinking of those who for whatever reason aren't feeling their right and proper selves.

Today there was a Macmillan coffee morning at work so we made sure we went down, and I consumed a piece of chocolate cake about half the size of my own face, WITH MALTESERS ON no less. Don't you just love those slices of cake that you have to eat in sections as you can't fit the whole end in your mouth at once? Decided to get another cake too and have kept it for tomorrow as I couldn't really manage it after all that in the morning. By which I mean I could, but I'll enjoy it more having cake on two days. Well it was for charity after all!

Apart from that, not much to report really. Plotting with Boyfriend to go on an expedition to London Dungeon at the weekend as I have a 2 for 1 from Tesco that runs out at the end of October (it claims to be then, but some of the places have restrictions that mean it actually runs out sooner) and it was the only place in the list that we fancied. As for once we are not doing something that will take all day, I have been permitted to go to the big shiny shops as well! Oooh excited, must take him to the pub after to make up for the shopping :D. Not going mad though, I just want to look for a winter coat and possibly some tops for work as could do with some new ones.

Taplady, hope all works out well in the end for your DS.

Jellybaby, you frighten that germ right away, I think I am getting a cold too. It seems to be that season again, work is full of people sneezing and coughing lately.

JackieO, hope all the hassle with your bandaging is well worth it and it does the trick.
