Hello all.
Now, before is flees my head, Happy Birthday to Essex Girl's DS.:bdaycake:
Molly I hate travelling on the M1, too. Needs must sometimes though. I always worry about Mr LW driving to Letchworth every day, but he often takes the "scenic" route, as he says it's actually faster than the motorway at that time of day! I'm so glad Poppy's lump is going down - please give both dogs a cuddle for me.:o
Just had an envelope full of paperwork in the mail, so I'll have to shift that today (someone remind me why I volunteer for these things), and I've just picked up today's Flylady list - bathroom today, deep joy! Stardrops, here I come......

Afternoon,
Redruby you have been busy
i made soup yesterday with half the stock from chicken in pressure cooker and chicken rice and veg ,which we had for tea
feeling much better today with stronger anti sickness meds but taking it easy still
hugs and waves to all0 -
Afternoon everyone,
the rain seems to be staying away today so have managed to hang some washing outdoors. (determined not to use the dryer AT ALL)
Fitted a draught excluder on the letterbox and next job today is extra warmth for the beds. Thinking I might start burning candles on the evenings instead of having the lamps on.( for warmth and less electric usage)
Have a good afternoon all0 -
Hey all.
I'm feeling awful but it's my own fault, another "quick drink" gone wrong and now I am feeling somewhat worse for wear. I'm so thirsty I've had to refill my 1.5l bottle four times and have had countless cups of tea! Combine this with my stinking cold and today is not going to be fun!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon
A quick hello as I eat lunch whilst baby has unscheduled nap!Got washing done, spent half the morning at nursery, school-wide event, lots of activities for families etc.
Afternoon jobs - go to vets' for worming stuff for DD's dog; clear dining table; cook a load of mince & veg to freeze; sort out quick tea as I'm off to night class at 5.30; see if there's time to iron a few bits at least!
Still a bit grey so washing in TD, but fog gone.
Baby now up, so off to give her lunch. Have a nice afternoon - sounds like lots of you are doing more OS than me!
A xo
PS adelight - sorry you're 'unwell' - even if self-inflicted! Hope you feel better soon xoJuly 2024 GC £0.00/£400

Afternoon all,
Cool, cloudy and breezy here, to rain later, so washing of bedding from one of spare rooms will go on banisters when wash finishes....won't do any more to-day as all inside places will be full.
Eventually found DS2's parchments which I was sure were in his own house, need to go to stationery store to have them scanned and emailed to him....I will then know where originals are!
Dinner to-day will be spaghetti carbonara as want to use up last bit of ham from weekend dinner, hate bits left around and don't want to take anything from freezer either....am trying to be a little frugal this week. Think I might make rice with stewed apple for pudding....needs to be cold to be at its best so should really do that now.
Have been trying to find someone to service our CH boiler....two phone calls later can't find someone to service an oil boiler, have got a name of someone who MIGHT have a number for someone...what's that all about, most people out this neck of the woods would have oil CH so not sure what's going on.
Hugs to all in need or want of one and get well soon to all who are below par

Good afternoon!
I've made vegetable soup this morning and just eaten some for lunch. My inside freezer is defrosted, cleaned and inventoried so I can sort out mealplans using the contents. I'm just about to go and do my relaxation CD and then hope to get some ironing done before I collect DD from school. She has tennis at 4pm and rainbows at 6 so her tea will be fish and chips from the chip shop near tennis, i'll be having LO pork curry, rice and a naan that I found in the freezer.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day.July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

Hiya all,
I'm feeling a bit under the weather too, sore throat & sinus so I'm not going to see Auntie this aft -I don't want to add any more bugs into the equation.Cousin is having a meeting soon to see if she can be moved to a nursing home, she's been in hospital 7 weeks now.She is very bad on her feet,a nurse found her on the floor at the weekend, with a great big lump at the back of her head:eek:.
Had a quick trip to the market this morning as Dh was passing close by,so he dropped me and picked me up again.I got some wool,as ran out for my cushion, they had some new colours in as well,so I got 2 balls to try.Its £1.89 a ball and is pure new wool, which I love,so is much cheaper. Its from a Yorkshire company-tried to see if they have a website but doesn't look like it.
Also got 10 Steak Canadiens for £2 ( which we've just polished off in a barm cake each) worked out cheaper than a pasty for the 4 of us,and v tasty with onions.10 big minneolas(tangerines) for a £,and last but not least a turkey for £5,which is much bigger than the chicken I got at the weekend for the same money
Think I'll have a snuggle on the sofa with my new wool this afternoon
Molly- glad Poppys lump is going down, thats a relief for you.
Jayward-so glad you are feeling a bit better.
Hugs to all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi everyone, been a bit distracted recently, but still trying to hang in with the OS ways.
To that end I have found the yoghurt cake recipe found here just now, some as a cake and some in muffin cases. The yoghurt was looking at me every time I went to the fridge. It's Easyyo and too expensive to waste! Also used a duff lemon languishing in the fruitbowl, zest of that and an easypeel in with the cake and will do some icing or drizzle for the tops with the juice. I haven't done this recipe before so should be interesting.
I had a delicious lunch, as ds left his packup in the fridge today, really yummy bacon, tomato and courgette risotto. He had one lot yesterday, but has had to forfeit the 2nd pot!
Been trying to get some housework and decluttering jobs done in between everything else, but too much laundry been kicking around to make much progress.
DD gone back to uni, so pushed the vac round her room.
Nothing exciting seems to be happening here, but that's sometimes a good thing. Bad news was the turbo diesel thing conked out on Friday night, sounds pretty pricey I think...dreading the bill.
Delivered some sewing for a lady this morning, she is really pleased with the blouse alteration that I did plus the fleece hoodie I made for her. Should be some more work from her later, she's had a stroke and not able to sew for herself any more.
Hope you all have a good day, weather is so dreary here, hope it's nicer where you are."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

**Knock knock** Can I come in?! Hope somebody remembers me!!
It's been a fair while since I posted on hear hope all those I knew before are OK & hello to all those who've since joined!
It's been a bit of a funny few months, which has basically resulted in my being off sick for quite some time now. What with all the stuff that had been going on with family, work being too busy to manage (and one person making my life a living hell) and just general rubbishy life things, everything just got on top of me a little bit too much. I'm still under the doctor who is helping me with sleep and things, but I'm coming round to thinking that I need to take some positive actions to get life back on track again.
So I'll be popping back on here, maybe not every day, but as often as I can, and I'll keep you posted on how I'm going with getting back to my OS ways!!
And what with Christmas and winter coming up I'm beginning to plan to ensure that we're not completely destitute over the festive season, and that we can all enjoy it in our lovely little family unit :j
Hope you're all having/have a great day.
