Old Style Daily Thread Tuesday 28th September 2010

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 28th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning:j:j:j
I hope everyone is feeling well and happy this morning and hugs to those who are feeling down especially Jackie G and Dazi. I would also like to thank Butterfly Brain for remembering me and hope that Csarina is feeling more rested and gets time to relax.

Well my OS has been some what restricted as I had a trip to Leicester yesterday for some horrid balance tests:( Anyway I did manage three loads of washing and my cleaner came yesterday so we are clean and more or less tidy. It was a horrid journey so can sympathise with Csarina and there was a bad accident on the M1 which is the third i have seen in as many days  Our old car needed a new exhaust and so decluttered 400 pounds. Really thinking that I might get a Motability car if my DLA award is renewed (fingers crossed) early next year as it will hopefully save us some pennies. Why does everything suddenly break all at once ? My central heating is also playing up and a few weeks ago it was the WM :mad::mad:

Today I have two appointments and then Im done with doctors for the week :T:T:T Im intending on making some quiche for tea. My DD made the most wonderful gingerbread yesterday whilst we were out which was a lovely treat when we got back.

Right I think its time to go back to bed as meds are now beginning to work but persuading my dogs is another thing as they are both snuggled into the side of me keeping me warm. Just an update to say that Poppy lump is going down so feeling much happier.

Hugs my OS friends xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

  • Morning all,
Damp & drizzly here today & I've finally put my sandles away & started wearing shoes.
Very exciting day yesterday, 3 policemen in school complete with stab vests all for one small boy with a pair of blunt scissors.
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his pack up, breakfast has been eaten, fish fed, bins put out, DW & WM both on. We had sausage & mash last night & spag bol tonight as it's quick & I'm out at a Jamie at home party.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Not raining here yet, but looks like it will later on, will see what washing I have to do and maybe do a small load.

I need to empty my remaining jelly bags this morning, and turn the juice onto more jelly, I also have my at home paid for job to do, which will take me several hours this morning.

Dinner tonight will involve lamb mince, I might do burgers, wedges and sweetcorn, so will have that to prepare.

Hester I went to a Jamie at home party once, its nice stuff but really expensive .

Hugs to all in need, have a good day xx
  • Morning my lovelies :D

Off to toddler group this morning with DD after the school run.
Looks like my mammoth school run with a mindee to linked junior school will be off the cards. Spoke to mum about it as they have been taking her to school in the mornings for the last week. No point paying me if they are going to be doing it themselves and it means I have the security of knowing I am not in a rush all morning :o So win-win all round ;)

Not sure what I'll get done today. H's scooter might be finally fixed today and if that's the case I might be having to drop him off to the shop in Halesowen to pick it up. At least an hours round trip at any stretch. If it's not fixed then I shall bake DS's birthday cake this afternoon.

Think tea will be a makeshift or something easy. Made HM veggie soup in SC overnight so will have that for lunch and I think H will have some for his lunch too.
Another dark morning here with a lot of dampness. Autumn has definately arrived :T

Molly - dunno why stuff all has to pack up at the same time but I normally break a matchstick after the 2nd thing breaks. Old wives tale according to my mum - she's the one that passes on all these weird superstitions :rotfl: She was sticking a pin in a cushion yesterday to "help" find my keys :rotfl:

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

  • Good Morning All

Anyway wet & miserable here again but DS is happy as its his Birthday Today. Got him up earlier to open his pressies then we are off out tonight for a family meal to a restaurant of his choice, think it will be Chiquita (sp):j

Have my training again today, think will try and get the ironing done before as its bothering me. Hopefully won't get too much homework today, will try and get it done straight away.

    So no cooking today :j

    Have a good one.x

    Morning all,

Bit drizzly here but not as cold this morning as it has been.

Dr's appt before work so an extra hour at home this morning - hoorah! Need to drop off some parcels at PO after that from Sunday's e*ay sales (woop woop) & nip to tip on way to work with 2 very tired & warped CD racks. I'm pretty much on track for clearing the clutter before we move to new house :A

Solicitor emailed yesterday to say we might be on track for exchange next Monday which is a week earlier than expected - starting to let myself get excited now!

Hugs & get well soons to those who need them - have a great day!

  • Morning.

Slept in this morning. Luckily the only one with anywhere to go is OH ;) The boys are still asleep as I let them watch a movie in bed, on the laptop, last night. Does anyone else here watch the Biggest Loser USA? It was the finale last night, and my favourite won, what an amazing transformation, they looked like a different person, a real inspiration. I will say no more in case anyone else has to catch up, if not, I think its on Sky1 this evening too, try and at least catch the last ten minutes to see them all.

Plan for the day is just getting on with it. There is a washing to be done, and food to sort out. I need a supermarket shop but will try and eke out what I have until the weekend and the new month GC as I blew it this month!

Hugs, spoons and hi fives! :)

    Jackie xx

PS I saw N9eav posting elsewhere on the board the other day, so he never got washed away.
