folks - for those of you that are getting a message saying "the code has been used too many times" change the date or the time of the order and most people have found that this will then go through. You may need to try a couple of different times to be successful though!!!0

It does seem to be tricky for some people....I've posted the Customer Services number and their advice at post#54, and mpartid got a good result as you can see at post#58.
Good luck!
It might just be a bad experience on my part, but be careful when phoning customer services.
I phoned them yesterday because I had put this code into my account at checkout, but I had also banked another code for Clubcard points and it was taking that one first, rather than the £20 off and I couldn't delete it.
I spoke to a very unpleasant girl who asked me where I had got the codes from. I informed her that I'd seen it on the internet (yes, I know, silly of me). However, I am a member of the Wine Club and I'm pretty sure I've received a £20 discount code anyway, which I pointed out to her. I've received lots of vouchers for the Wine Club this year but this was to be my first order. When I saw this post here yesterday it reminded me that I should do my order asap so I used this code.
She ignored this and went into a long speech about how using any codes seen on the internet was fraudulent and illegal. I told her I very was sorry and that I wasn't aware that my behaviour was wrong (I'm not someone who trawls the internet for Tesco codes - my extra points/discounts come from vouchers they send me). I pointed out that it was likely I had this code, and other codes, at home anyway. She was curt and told me that I'd have to prove it. At one point she even said "only one of us is being honest here". I asked her what she meant - I had been honest, perhaps foolishly so and I didn't like her insinuation. I asked if I could speak to her manager as I didn't think our conversation was going anywhere. She said the manager was on holiday and started to go into her fraud speech again and told me she would put notes on my account regarding the fraud. When I asked to speak to whoever else might be in charge of the department, she then decided that she was the manager. She also said she wouldn't put me through to anyone else because I would say that she had accused me of fraud
. I said "no, I just want to speak to someone else with my query because I don't feel we're getting anywhere" - I wasn't interested in having a battle with her/about her. She refused and started to repeat her fraudulent behaviour speech - she was like a robot, with no capacity for listening. She interrupted me and talked over me every time I spoke, and then had the audacity to complain on the occasion that I interrupted.
When I asked for her name, she said "I've already given it". I told her that if she had said her name at the beginning, I didn't remember it so please could she tell me now. She refused saying "I don't have to repeat myself". I asked "But surely if I phone back, I can find out your name because you've put notes on my account?" I can't recall her exact words, but she suggested that the notes wouldn't be there - so I guess she was trying to cover her tracks?
I told her that it was probably unlikely that I would place the order now anyway after this experience and she said that she would delete my account! I insisted that she didn't as I use it for groceries, not just the wine.
So, after refusing to put me through to anyone else or give her name, she decided that she would cut me off - "I am now going to terminate this call". Me: "please can I just speak to someone else". Her "No, goodbye".
I phoned back and spoke to a nice guy who said he would put the complaint through. He confirmed that there was no trace of her going into my account, but obviously with the times I gave him they can track the recorded conversation. A manager is going to listen to the conversation and call me back. I'm happy about this as I was polite and I didn't lose my rag, much as I wanted to! Her manner was appalling and if any of my staff spoke to our customers like she did, they'd be on a warning. If there is a problem with using this code, then fine, but there's no need to be so unpleasant and accusatory about it.
In the meantime they've sent me a £10 voucher as an apology. To be honest, the whole thing has left quite a sour taste in my mouth so I'm not even sure I'll use it. Ocado grocery delivery and other wine merchants might not be quite as cheap, but I'd rather be treated in a civil manner than be spoken to in the way this vile little madam did.0 -
Hello Everybody ...
To those of you who are failing to get the £20 code to accept ... please see below ... posted it on Monday afternoon but it maybe got a bit lost! ...
Free Delivery Tesco Wine .... 1 Week to Oct 8th
Sorry if somebody has noticed and posted this one already ...
Placed three orders on Saturday for wine ... to take advantage of the points/money off codes .... charged delivery on all three ... however in a bid to reduce my/our carbon footprint I called Tesco to ask them to amalgamate the orders into one delivery slot ... could not do so told me to cancel & reorder ....
When I did this though all this weeks orders now going through on Free Delivery as standard ... plus it allows you to put in an additional XX-code for points or cash as desired ... allows you to take advantage of the August Clubcard 1000 bonus Points per 12 bottles/No Min order .... XX-9FF6 ... Vaild until 12/10/06 ... with no 'painful' delivery charge ...
Hope this helps ...

LesD wrote:Had a codes problem myself yesterday! Didn't think I could get delivery by the 12th (when the cash discounts expire), so used the 1000 points code. Then found we'd be here for delivery on the 12th after all. But it would not then let me remove the 1000 points code so I could use the £20 off!
heres a new scenario i havnt read on here...exactly the same as above but.....
because i couldnt use the £20.00 off, i thought i would at least try to clear the 1000points voucher by ordering something and paying for delivery etc.
ORDER DETAILS:
12 bottles of lambrusco @ £16.98
delivery @ £5.00
total £21.98.
i then hit checkout and sure enough the 1000points voucher is activated BUT the free delivery is also active
i have now paid and printed off my confirmation.
so for £16.97 i have got 12 bottles of lambrusco + 1000 points inc. delivery on the 16th.
btw. i have only used tesco online once before (another wine offer) and i never use tesco stores...my online statement does say i have points though, and of course these 1000 will be added.
i also have a clubcard number assigned to me but i guess thats an online thing...how would i get my points if i dont have a card? will they just send vouchers? do i only need a card if i am buying instore?
also, the vouchers you get...eg 1000points = £10.00. is that £10.00 off all shopping or selected items? can i use these vouchers to shop online in conjuntion with any other evoucher offers?
thank you.

whoo-hoo!!
Got 6 x Hardy's Crest Sparkling and 6 x Finest Chardonnay Bronze Medal, for £36.
Incidentally, I'd done it with Bin 65 instead at first which came to £51.84 or so, and the voucher didn't show up, but upon clicking back, changing the order and clicking forward it brought it in automatically, so I reckon it must apply the discounted delivery before the £20 so you need to be over £55 in order to get it to work.I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!
Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
Shopandscan, £2,840
Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR12000 -
