Barclaycard (late payment) charges

Thanks for all suggestions.
My partner isn't the most (how to phrase this politely?!) head on when it comes to dealing with debts and such, he is rather laid back regarding it, so long as it's getting paid and they're not calling him.
We were registered with online banking (I set this up) but partner has moved email accounts since setting it up and can't remember the details for his old email address, tried to re-register but they ask for details of the card (which is destroyed) to reset details so can't do that.
As the card is in his name I can't call them up to obtain the balance or any other information (they won't entertain me) due to data protection (which I totally respect).
Think I'm just going to have to be pushy with him to call and get things in place as it's stressing me (way more than it is him!). Either that or I write a letter and get him to just sign it! (sigh! ... more work for me .. lovely!)
On another note .... does anyone know how often Barclaycard would send a new card? (e.g how long does a credit card last before it expires ... we cut up the last one as soon as received but don't know when that was other than it was in our old house). Just that if we're not receiving statements, I'm starting to worry that they may send a new card (possibly to our old house), and the thought of that falling into malicious hands terrifies me more than anything!

Mine seem to last 3 years.
It might be possible to ask them NOT to replace the card (but not close the account). I did this with Capital One. Just kept the account open but without any cards issued on it. Later I rang them up and on request they sent out a card. (I spend long periods overseas and don't like replacements sent unless I know I'm going to be around to pick them up.)0
