Very out of practice at interviews, and wasn't prepared as I'd been so focused on setting Skype up and making sure it was working!

There were a few things, but the main issue may have been the question how long I saw myself working for them, which for some reason caught me completly off guard. I said I'd have to see how it went, maybe six months.... I think because that's how long the contract they'd mentioned was, but I'm sure they are looking for people to stay longer after all the investment of training.

Oh and I said I'd found the assesment taxing, when what I was trying to say was I'd been thinking really hard about it and refering back to the guidelines rather than just making guesses.

Does anyone know if they accept repeat applications?
  • Hi everyone. I've just joined (although been a MSE follower for about a year now). I just wanted to say that this thread has been very inspirational - just the kick up the butt that I needed, although me too, an XP user. Thank you to jozvaldo for posting :T. Good luck to everyone who can partake of this opportunity and :grouphug: for all the peeps who can't.

Thanks for the nice words - glad its helped!!

You just need to be patient as it can take upto a few weeks to hear back - it just depends on which projects they are currently looking to run.

Was accepted for both Butler Hill and the Quext (text service), but not heard from either company in over a month now. Have pretty much given up on them. Not sure what the point is of interviewing, testing, employing, and sending contracts to people, then not bothering to use them?

On the other hand, i applied to Lionbridge months ago and never heard anything back. They emailed yesterday to say was I still interested as they have a small number of UK vacancies now available :D Have updated my details and CV on their site and emailed back to say yes i'm interested. Here's hoping :T

Not sure tbh. You could try contacting the hiring manager who interviewed you, explain that you feel you didn't show your best during the interview, and you'd like to address some points here, with the hope of progressing further with your application. Just think through the questions that threw you, and address them in your email.

    Can't hurt can it?:)

    Good luck:beer:

That's a shame - by the time you get through the application process and training programme it could all be over.

Andrea - are you aware you have psychic ability??!!

I got accepted, completed training, worked on the project for 3 weeks - and got told that the client was downsizing the operation and as a result I was one of the ones to go (first in first out i guess) - leaving me with just 1 more week of work!

Not a happy chappy, especially as I put a LOT of effort into getting my head around their ratings system!

Good luck to anyone else who applies or is still working there....i'm not bitter lol :o

  • Hi chris,

Not good, but reassuring to hear I'm not the only one :(

I suspect we trained together ;)
