I wondered if anyone on here can help me!

I am really out of touch of the whole toy thing, but have a niece. She and I have very separate lives so I haven't seen her for a few months now. But I will be seeing her next for Christmas. She is 6 yrs.

I really want to get her something for Christmas which is special and a suprize, normally I have my mum or her mum saying "get this or that", well I'd really like to get her something that isn't to their instruction and shows I have tried more. In the past she has had products from Lush, a Thumbellina doll, kids Acessorize jewellery and various cuddly toys and books.
Normally she is into High Street Musical and thinks Cheryl Cole is the best thing in the world. Makeup has been-and-gone as have hair straighteners (isn't it scary how fast they grow up now-a-days?)

Does anyone have any advice on what to look for for a girly (growing up too fast) 6yr old?

there's a challenge, I have a daughter so I'll have this all to come to and I'm usually told what to buy my neices. I think Maxi suggest the Monster High Dolls, they are freaky but the attention to detail is amazing. I'm not sure what you think about perfume but I love the whole Gwen Stefani harajuku lovers perfume, the bottles come with a little doll like the momji dolls - the Christmas Baby fragrance is lovely, very girlie and light and having read the reviews on boots it would appear to be perfect for little and big girls :)

I'm sure you'll get lots of good advice

lol!....at 6?! I've not grown out of my make-up yet or straighteners yet and I'm 37 - I wouldn't let my 6 year old DD near my GHD's though

My DD is 6 (7 next March) and on her christmas list we have mainly Sylvanian families if that's any help - they are quite pricey and you do have to shop around for the best price.

I showed her the Monster High dolls and she thought they were 'rank' - charming - think they weren't quite pretty enough for her.

Vivid's JLS dolls reach craze proportions
Demand for the collector dolls expected to reach 250,000 units by year-end.

CEO Paul Weston said: “We are putting all efforts into ramping up production for Christmas but even planning for air freight, we don’t think we’ll get more than 100,000 units shipped given capacity constraints in China."

All four dolls are currently selling on Ebay for up to £130 and Vivid is rushing through more new JLS product for 2011 to meet demand

Currently available at Argos for £14.99

Not sure if this helps anyone but my local Tesco's (same price as Argos) had shelves full of these dolls at the weekend (all 4 were available)
My DS was having a good old giggle about them - much to DD's disgust :D

Had them in Tesco in Irvine too - my two are JLS mad but at 10 and 12 were told swiftly NO MORE DOLLS, even if JLS!!!! Am I mean:(
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

lol! :rotfl:nope - I know what's it's like to keep having to buy these various dollies and having too many around the house!

DD has been in to baby dolls for years and now aged 6 is just venturing in to barbie fashion doll territory (which rings the changes somewhat)
