I managed to return and re-buy my Monster High dolls today at Argos.

I also saw that double pack of Monster High dolls (Is it someone and Cleo?) in Beales department store. I can't remember how much but remember it being cheaper than I expected and very nearly got one.

I wondered if anyone on here can help me!

I am really out of touch of the whole toy thing, but have a niece. She and I have very separate lives so I haven't seen her for a few months now. But I will be seeing her next for Christmas. She is 6 yrs.

I really want to get her something for Christmas which is special and a suprize, normally I have my mum or her mum saying "get this or that", well I'd really like to get her something that isn't to their instruction and shows I have tried more. In the past she has had products from Lush, a Thumbellina doll, kids Acessorize jewellery and various cuddly toys and books.
Normally she is into High Street Musical and thinks Cheryl Cole is the best thing in the world. Makeup has been-and-gone as have hair straighteners (isn't it scary how fast they grow up now-a-days?)

Does anyone have any advice on what to look for for a girly (growing up too fast) 6yr old?

Thanks, but yikes! I think i'll not bother if they're the prices people are overcharging.
I saw then for around £10 in toys r us before my son announced he would like them.
    But thankyou for looking.

Bemused. A 6 yr old with hair straighteners?

How about music or dvd's if she's into Cheryl Cole?

I am not going to get into the whole rushing out and buying toys this year, I was on the Zhu Zhu pets thread last year lol, this year I made sure I got what my son wanted before hand so I'm not in the same pickle lol.

I am still stuck for some ideas though so am looking through this thread.

Well if she likes High School Musical then she will love Monster High. Why not get her a Monster High doll. Currently on special offer from Argos @ £11.99 (down from £14.99).

Freaky just got fabulous!!! After years of making toys based on other companies' properties or movies, Mattel this summer launched its first in-house brand created from scratch, pushing "Monster High" through a combination of books, webisodes animation (on youtube), as well as toys, apparel and accessories. And as no entertainment line up today can be complete without the live-action movie, Universal are now going to make a film which is being scripted by the producers of the Hannah Montana movie. The monster musical is set at "frighteningly fashionable" Monster High and features the kids of famous monsters including Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman, undergoing the perils of high school. The film will be bringing a musical approach to a tone that will be part "Beetlejuice" and part "The Addams Family." The hype is so huge, that already hundreds of discussion groups and blogs have started on the net all waiting for news of the movie which is anticipated for release in 2012. In the meantime, you can get a little taster from the video below (you can see the animated webisodes on youtube). As you will see, its going to be absolutely huge and already, in anticipation of this, the Monster High Dolls: Clawdeen, Draculaura, Frankie Stein, Lagoona Blue, Cleo of the Nile, Deuce Gorgon are already pretty much sold out across the UK! If your girls haven't asked for them yet, they soon will!

Monster High has just started on Nickelodeon (on Sky and Virgin Media) at 16.55hrs daily! The official facebook page also says "Dead excited over Nickelodeon's MH (Monster High) TV special set to air on Halloween!" Wahoooo, we can't wait! Here is the link to the Monster high tv channel on Youtube where you can watch all the 'webisodes': http://www.youtube.com/user/MonsterHigh and their facebook page http://www.facebook.com/MonsterHigh.

Vivid's JLS dolls reach craze proportions
Demand for the collector dolls expected to reach 250,000 units by year-end.

CEO Paul Weston said: “We are putting all efforts into ramping up production for Christmas but even planning for air freight, we don’t think we’ll get more than 100,000 units shipped given capacity constraints in China."

All four dolls are currently selling on Ebay for up to £130 and Vivid is rushing through more new JLS product for 2011 to meet demand

Currently available at Argos for £14.99
