Cutting Tray bakes

can anyone give me any tips on how to cut traybakes - eg caramel squares - without the chocolate on top cracking?

The culinary god that runs the local cafe bar swears by using a warm knife. Just leave it in water for a few mins. The scoring also helps. I know people who put patterns in the still melted chocolate which makes cracking less noticable.There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

My Mom measured her tin, did the maths, and scored little marks on the edges of the tray. Metal ruler from mark to mark and voila - even pieces. :TTrust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -

I do this - works wonders - all my round tins have the diameters scratched on the bottom too

And it also works a treat for slicing soft, gooey cheese without making a mess! 0 -
I did see dental floss being used to cut cakes once- thought it a good idea.0
