Manchester Trams Gestapo staff

The point I was trying to make was that the inspector was overly officious and a downright liar. For someone who has not used a particular system before, you think a bit of understanding might be given. I appreciate that people may try this trick to avoid paying the fare, but I was a genuine case, and did not realise that you cannot pay staff on the tram. Obviously it can be difficult for staff, but surely a better system should be used? I was quite clearly correct in my actions as I received a grovelling apology from the operator of the tram system.
As for this ongoing debate as to my usage of the word "Gestapo", I am not apologising. No offence was intended nor did it exist until people actually started looking for it. How many times has the term "little Hitler" been used? Perhaps I should have used the name of an organisation or person that is little known or rarely used, but equally as vilious as Nazis. Pol Pot? Gengis Kahn? Atilla the Hun? Mussollini? Are we now so weak as a society taht we have to wrap everyone in cotton wool and not venture out or say anything for fear of causing ofence to someone's sensibilities? Pretty soon, we will be renaming Britain as "AirStrip One". Bring on Newspeak dictionaries!Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0 -

Come on, I'm sure you could be nice if you try really hard.

Calling a member of staff "the Gestapo" isn't rude or insulting then?
So, it's ok for the OP to be offensive, rude, and nasty - but not me?! !!!!!!?   :mad:The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.
