Did you speak to EA today to say you will only except straight offer?
  • No, RS, I've been in work. I am going to write a letter tomorrow because we have a situation that I find v worrying. We don't have to move from this house but have put it on the market so that IF we find the right house for less money, we can downsize and have more fun money available.(mid life reappraisal going on)

Because houses in this square hardly ever come up for sale and they are all v different, the EA valuations varied widely. The only thing we could do was put it up for sale and see what we could get. We will move but only for the right house. I have asked the EA to make this very clear to our buyers and we haven't actually accepted their offer but I'm worried. We've moved loads of times and I have learned from experience not to trust EAs too much. The buyer was driving past showing the house to his children yesterday. I just want to make sure they know how the land lies so I'm going to put this in writing to the EA along with the request for the offer to be put in the usual way.
