Well done Pooky although I do understand why your feelings are mixed ones. Still....at least you are debt free. You can celebrate that on here with all of us :D

can you put it to the council that you need a ground floor flat with a garden or a small house as you need an assistance dog?

I've already got a ground floor flat, but the only ones with gardens are big houses. I do actually have a fenced off part that's big enough if it wasn't for the big raised flowerbed. I don't really need an assistance dog, but I am planning on getting a normal dog at some point.

Pooks, that's brilliant hun. I know it's a bad situation, but this is the silver lining of the gigantic stormcloud you've had hanging over you, so hopefully this is the start of better times ahead!
Ames, I'd love a dog, I love animals :D or a cat, but my flat's too small!
Also, said to my English lecturer I was thinking of moving to Finland, and she said to remind her and she'd get in touch with some people she knows in the unis over there and I might be able to teach English out there! Talk about a development! Still going to do the TESOL just in case I can't get work as one, then I can still do private tuition. Also, my learning Finnish book should be here tomorrow/Wednesday, so I can crack on with that.

Have been sat for the past hour or 2 doing cross stitch and I'm nearly done with another colour....I might get it finished in time to get a decent frame for it :D

All you cat people, I have a question! My daughter desperately would like a kitten/cat but the thought of them bringing mice and birds to me turns my stomach. People have said to me to make it a house cat and not let it out, but is that cruel? Also I would want it to go to the toilet outside because litter trays can smell and we only have a tiny house, so wouldn't know where to keep the litter tray.

Is there a solution to any of this do you know?

Mum used to have a house cat but she was blind in one eye, so it was through necessity rather than choice. Not sure on the how to make cat go outside without being an outside cat....but I know you can get covered litter trays which don't whiff as much
