A Cute Bump from the bottom of page 2.
Cheers all, Handy
I still cant work out why my Hedgehog picture wouldn't load last night?
Maybe it was something to do with it being a screen grab? but that's worked beforeMother Nature Don't Draw Straight lines, We are Broken Moulds in Life's Grand Design, We look a Mess but we're doing fine,

Is this under the aga handy or in the bottom oven???? Do these terriers play nicely (sorry I can't follow your link). I'm afraid our dogs have been known to pick them up by the spikes (in their teeth) and twirl them around
Hi Tix it lives in a hollow pew by its owners AGA, it comes out at night to play with the terriers. Its owner a chap called Sainsbury - Plaice. Not a made up name check this weeks country life says after a few prickles the dogs now leave it alone and it plays with the puppy.
My black Lab Flash brings them back to me. He can pick them up in his mouth no problem :eek::eek: He thinks this is clever, Just something else to retrieve.:)
Mind you in X amount of years down in scrumpy land I haven't seen on single hedgehog, I read an article last year that said they are practically extinct in areas with a large Badger population. Apparently Badgers can unroll and kill a Hedgehog. Seeing as there are at least 3 Badger sets within a 1/2 mile radius of me and I see at least 2 or 3 every evening I can believe it.
There you didn't think you were going to get an edition of Country file, did you?

We have a sett as well - but we also do see some hedgehogs - probably not as many as we used to thinking about it. Once I have seen a spike in one of the dogs muzzles but like yours mostly they seem to have the knack of picking them up.
The problem is when one dog has it the other tries to steal it (as they do with everything) which is why the first will then pick it up and turn in circles, whilst the poor hedgehog thinks its on a merry go round!
Its a real pain to get the dogs away from them actually, often have to resort to putting leads on them.
Have to say I didn't realise badgers would eat something that size. I know they are carnivores but assumed they had smaller tastes.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
