Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

    What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!

What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Abuse” icon, as shown below:

    report.gif

Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the abuse team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FORUM :)

Just been out in my new car again, does anyone know what traction control is? Cos it's got it. The salesman told me just to keep it on all the time but it must have a purpose?!

Oh its a good thing to have Ames. Helps the car stay on the road, even if you take the corners to fast or in the snow (although even with it I still manage to spin in the snow). And stops learners stalling.
Are you feeling a bit better now?

George sorry to hear about SIL. Glad to hear you've told work you are not going in, you might be busy but you have to put your own life first (at least sometimes).

Hope everyone else is okay, and try to all stay happy please. I don't like all the other stuff and bad feelings. This forum is not about all that, its about helping and supporting each other.

Just read back, hugs George, hope you're ok, and the family.

Numpty, sorry you've had a wobble, you can always email me if you want to let off steam x

I'm knackered, but not working tomorrow so this counts as downtime.
The questions can wait for some other time. Keeps it all on the right thread then, but feel free to ask me something if you want.

Hi Ames, long time no type. No idea what traction control is all about - something to do with giving you greater control on the road though.

Hi Numpty. Not seen you around for a while (although i've been AWOL too). Hope you're keeping well.

Thanks Tixy. Is it best just to leave it on all the time then? (Although it's on now and I still stalled it three times the first time I drove it!)

I'm feeling a lot better now, I think it was just because of it being the first lesson with all the introductions, so I'll be able to slip in next week and not have to have any attention. As for the bug I'm still a bit gunky but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

Hiya Ames - just asked hubbie - traction control stops wheels spinning if you accelerate too hard or brake too hard - the salesman probably meant that if you don't know anything about it, it's best on than off
