Those prices that included bags and meals and drinks were hugely higher than today's prices. The current business model allows those users who don't need all of the services to pay for just those they use.

In all fairness it's hard to argue that £190 for 9 hours of air travel is excessive. There are bus and train journeys in the UK that cost less.

I wanted to book direct,but my friends do not want to fork out the whole amount for the flight,and they are concerned thet if booked with Monarch we are not covered in the event of the company going into administration.

I am just off to book my flights now,leave it upto them to make their own minds up,like i say while they are pondering on these issues the flight price may increase and i need to confirm the apts tonight.

The reason for the increase in fare is that we are booking through a system that is ATOL protected
