Had single-premiums refunded on loans, but for some reason i have just had 6 rejections on 6 credit cards i have with all the major lenders.
HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds TSB, Egg, MBNA, and Natwest
Why have they rejected my claims on the cards but paid me out on the loans?

Apparently i completed demands and needs forms when i took the cards out, is that game over for me?HBOS rejected my cc claim , but i got FOS involved and they have upheld before an adjudacotor was appointed..banks will give you any excuse in the hope you go away..fight them all the way.:beer:0 -
Did you take them out online or in the banks or even over the telephone. Its because a lot of credit cards are sold online so its up to you to read the terms and conditions of the PPi before ticking the box (or unticking as some of these boxes were pre ticked online). This would then make them non advised sales and they are harder to reclaim but people have done if the boxes are preticked.
If you did a demands and needs when you took them out was it you or an advisor that filled them in?0 -
Hi there
It was the same for mine.....(lloyds).
They did not uphold on my credit card ppi, but did with all the loans ppi, yet they were all arranged in my bank.
The FOS did finally resolve the CC PPI, so go to them if you've received your final decision, otherwise ask for a reconsideration with your reasons, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

That would normally suggest that a check for financial need and eligibility was checked at the time. So, all the usual things you can complain about (not knowing your circumstances, not sold by someone qualified, didnt know you had it blah blah) wont apply.
it doesnt mean end of the road but it does make it harder for any complaint to succeed. The statement of demands and need was put in place to increase consumer protection and also to protect the seller from future complaints.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). ok, Natwest and HSBC are saying as i filled in and returned a coupon for the credit cards and ticked the PPI box, my claims are void.
Darn!
So i have no ammo to go to the FOS with either!

I would still make a complaint to the FOS, as dunstonh says, its not exactly at the end of the road, you have your reasons, and people have still been successful from this, but maybe the FOS will overturn in your favour. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
