Potterton boiler

Hi
Can anyone please help. I have an intermittent fault on my boiler. About once a week I have to reset the boiler in order for it to come on. Does anybody have any ideas what the fault could be? The boiler is about 8 years old.

are you talking about the Direct Hot Water (hot taps) or the central heating side?

At what point does the red "reset" light come on? Is there any particular event that happens or has just happened before it cuts out ?

What model is it?

(and, yes, you'd probably get more input in In My Home - it tends to be a bit computer-y in here....

take a look at a site called lovekin.net it is a firm which carries out repairs but also has a useful guide of known faults on various potterton models I would guess it will be dry solder joints on your circuit board causing this ignition problem
