It could infact be someone else who they are trying to get the money off but an admin error has deducted it from her... it needs to be dealt with ASAP though!

Well I have found out it was for a final payment of council tax 3 Years ago when I moved which i cant understand as i changed my address with them and moved house, I asked why no letters where sent and all they said was that they didnt bother to send any letters just applied to employee. The bill is now clear and she said it wont effect my credit rating.
She also agreed with me that it wouldnt cost much to send a letter but they didnt.
Im still upset and fuming regarding this cos it looks bad with my employer but I have explained to them what it is but its not the point.
Are they allowed to do this??

yes they are but as they said the way councils works they dont report any owings to credits companies
as for the company you work for, they wont care as I bet they get them all the timeIn London, you're never more than 20 feet away from someone telling you you're never more than 20 feet from a rat .0
