used skoda fabia
Hi Guys,
I am planning to buy a 2006/06 plate skoda fabia 1.9 TDi from a dealer with 28k miles for £6100 from a dealer. The salesman told me that they would add a years warranty, an years breakdown, MOT and six months road tax. He also told me that they have just done a cambelt change, is this good or bad, am i paying too much for a main dealer

Cambelt change at 28k? I always thought they would need to be changed around the 50-60k mark0
-
Cambelt change due at 4 years or 60k miles - so yes it was due.
No idea about price but autotrader seems to agree with the price from a main dealer.0 -
Oh, I always thought that a cambelt change was required after every 30k miles. With this being the last weekend of sep and the quarter close for the dealer is there room for any haggling since they are already offering a years service and 6 months tax0

Under £6k for a 2007 car.
Compares specs etc see how yours compares.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for the link mate, the Ambiente is definitely a good one. The price is right on Parkers too. Parkers quote mine as £5,350 for a 2006/06, but that's with 40K miles and mine has 28k for £6,100 so that may account for the price difference I would assume
Also mine is an Elegance and comes with Cruise Control, are there a lot of differences between the two models0 -
Just did a valuation at glass.co.uk and apparently its not such a good deal at all. The dealer has quoted £6100 but according to glass it should be £5500 from a dealer. Not sure if they mean a franchised dealer though, they dont seem to specify a different price like parkers for independent and franchised dealers0

Tribalboy, make sure the rear door seals are watertight. Its a known issue on the Fabia. Check for damp carpets in the rear footwells or a musty smell.0

Will do that skorpio, thanks for pointing it out.
The original price was £6350 and the salesman agreed to come down to £6100. I dont know if he will budge any more, but I was banking on the last few days of the month/quarter to see if he can go any further.
The glass valuations are pretty renowned, has anyone got any opinions/advice about the price, should I be paying this much0 -
