I dont want anything from him but my mum feels im "owed" He left on my 1st birthday and hasnt paid a penny even though part of the divorce states that he had to pay x amount until i was 16, I told her if she feels that way she should've done something about it before i turned 16 (12 years ago!!) Shes even said I should go to a lawyer to find out if theres anything they can do about the money he never paid but im not that interested,
Im asking to give her answer lol he hasnt even passed away and to be honest i probably wont even find out when he does!!
I think your thread is really interesting as Im in exactly the same situation. However in this case its me that feels he owes..... My mum scrimped to survive looking after 2 children and he never paid a penny or sent cards or kept in touch and I resent that she HAD to do it all on her own (though she did a great job and she wouldnt want his money).
Sadly my 'dad' lives in England and I wouldnt be entitled to anything under English law - shame he doesnt live in Scotland as I would def claim my heiratable rights.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0
