Cable tv versus FreeTo View? Comments ?

We have a Virgin cable package which includes phone tv and internet. Our tv area gets a lot of problems for reasons which are unclear but mean we have had limited ability to watch tv recently and I find I scarcely miss it.
Recently too I have turned on the tv to watch an episode of CSI at peak times and found myself watching the same episode three times in one week. So many of the programmes are repeats. I assume the channels concerned owns the series and it is just lazy programming but I am fed up with it.
My sister was saying the same thing. It's only really the sport that the OH would miss.
