Kiwi fruit always looked to me like they needed to be peeled before eating, or else eat them like they are boiled egg. However an MSE member Kiwichick mentioned that eating the skin is the way they are eaten in NZ. I gave it a go - they are OK, nothing to worry about, just a wee bit tougher but not bad at all. I've been converted and eat the skins now.0

It depends what sort of mood I am in, if I have done a fruit salad I won't eat the skin but if I am just eating a whole kiwi fruit I will eat the skin0

I do eat peaches and pears. My husband had never HEARD of anyone eating a pear as if it were an apple until I did it.
I almost always eat my kiwi fruit with the skin on, though if the fruit isn't sufficiently ripe the skin can be a bit sour. It has a stronger, tangier flavour than the inside bits.
I once saw a peach defuzzifying machine on telly, which some eccentric had invented. It struck me as quite bizarre that anyone would prefer their peaches non-fuzzy.0
