Need to replace water damaged ECU- ant recommendations?

I'm bumping this thread as we have another problem with the Polo. An engine management light has come on again. We had the ECU fixed by the ECU Doctor in October and it was working fine. The car hasn't been on the road since then as we are trying to sell it. When we had the previous problem, the car wouldn't start or drive. Now the car will drive ok, but we can't sell it with this light on. A mechanic reset it, and it went off. Then it came back on again within 10 minutes.
My question after all that is..... is it likely to be the ECU again? Or something else? Has anyone got any ideas please?

more likely a separate fault
the ECU is telling you something is out of its expected parameters
could be as simple as moisture in the elctrics with it sitting so long.
did the mechanic who reset the lights not read the fault codes?
