both transactions had the same reference number thats why a+l were in the end able to remove the block and make the funds available to my account again

So were there 2 identical debits to your account for £816.55? Or just 1 x debit of £816.55 and an equivalent value also missing from 'available'?

If A&L were 'able to remove the block' ......... then it has to be the latter? So how could that take you over the overdraft?
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

this is crazy im the one out of pocket been pushed between two big companies
Maybe neither of them are to blame...
Tesco Travel Money is provided in store by Travelex Agency Services Limited, trading as Travelex Worldwide Money.

...if the T&Cs of your purchase (on the receipt for example) state your 'contract' is with Travelex. Do they?
  • I have a similar problem. Just payed my tesco card bill online and they took payment twice... 2nd one bounced as not enough funds to pay my bill twice! Tesco system only shows bounced payment and they claim not to have my money... but Bank shows that my money is gone.

Rang Customer services and after several minutes of automated nonsense a woman asked me how I plan to pay my bill! !!!!!!.
I told her that Tesco have taken my money already and I will not be paying again. Hoping they resolve it soon else it gets ever more complicated ringing up and explaining it all over to another Customer Services person .. after going through 5 mins of automated nonsense.

  • Quick update to my last post! The money cleared back into my account after 5 days, although Tesco did not accept any blame or get back to me as promised....
