Viewing after offer accepted

Hi all,

Do you think its a daft idea to go see the house that we have had an offer accepted on? The photo's that the EA has are not brilliant and I'd love to see it one more time.

Thanks Katy x

    Why not?
Of course the vendors might refuse, but most don't. Take a camera and a tape measure (for curtains!).

No harm in it - I viewed my house 3 times after I put the offer!

    1st time - alone
    2nd time - with hubby
3rd time = with hubby and children
  • It's a great idea - we have done it before. The vendor were very keen for us to visit again and we were able to have a relaxed chat and swap phone numbers, which meant that from then on in, the solicitors could not fob us off with 'we're waiting for the other party' rubbish because we were in contact and could check up with one another.
Also, you can use it as an opportunity to find out exactly what they are intending to leave (curtains, plants etc).
  • Have they accepted the other offer? If so, you are into gazumping terrritory and all the hazards which that entails

 ours was the only offer they had and accepted.

We went to view again, to refresh our memory, like you say the photos dont really get the detail, they are just to advertise to get you to see it.

Also our buyers came to view three times after we accpeted thair offer, we just made them welcome, let our kida play with theirs while they measured up etc. The last time they even brought an architect friend if theres!

However I would have felt uncomfortable if they had started taking extra photos to be honest.

If your refering to another thread by me, they didn't accept our offer they went with the other one

I wasn't actually, but it is interesting to see that you are well used to gazumping others.

Round my way, there are more gazumping instances almost every day, which augurs well for the property market overall even if it is something I would never engage in myself. I find it despicable

And yet you are considering doing just that by placing a higher bid on a property which already has an agreed sale price. How very honorable of you.

I think you got the wrong end of the stick my love, we are the only one's to have put an offer on the house and they have accepted it, we are the ones buying the house.

Its our new house I want to go see again....
