What if the person is on HRC of DLA but placed in the worked related ESA group?

Unfortunately there is no exemption for people on HRC who are claiming ESA.

Common sense would say that they should be in the support group, but common sense does not seem to apply here. I can't answer your question, sorry, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly.

  • Hi all

Just wanted to advise anyone in the same situation that you should ring your advisor and make sure whether or not you need to attend the WFI, I suppose everyone's circumstances and situations are different.

My father had to attend but the advisor was very sympathetic to his needs and could clearly see that he is very unwell and updated her notes accordingly.

So basically you are not necessarily exempt from attending a WFI even if you are on the highest rate of DLA.

Hope this helps some of you out there.
