Apple Ipods are the most catered for by products like this so aim to get a Apple . make sure the radio alarm and the Ipod you choose are compatible though .

a Ipod Nano should do nicely . Ipod Classics are the top of the tree as regards MP3 players , but you need a proper music collection to make it worth the asking price IMO . Ipod Shuffles are more for the Gym ect . Ipod Touch are just a Iphone with out the phone . a Iphone might be a good option if you can get a compatible alarm clock and you are due a phone upgrade on a contract .

otherwise i would go for a Nano like this ( or cheaper)
