  • Good morning all

    How are we all today?

Maman - hows the ankle? Still resting it up I hope?

Wierd....woke up thinking "yay, its friday" and my next though wasn't "must put a bottle of wine in the fridge". Normally its all thats in my mind. Alcohol seems to be last in a very long list of priorities for me at the moment, so thats good :)

no more AFD to report here - I went out Tuesday and last night (to a comedy club, very funny) and then on Wednesday I drank quite a lot at home and felt a bit rough on Thursday morning - shame really.

    Won't drink tonight though.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Thanks for asking MissP. Ankle much less painful now, done the obligatory 7 days rest then stitches due to come out next week.

Good news that alcohol isn't foremost in your mind. Take care.

    Happy Friday all!

I've caught up (a little bit) on this thread since getting back from France & catching up on the work I'd not been able to do while over there so....

Welcome *Jobags* - your situation sounds very familiar to where I was before joining this thread. I've found Pen's & Shaggy's challenges have really helped me to stick to being mostly AF on weekdays (ahem, of course, exepct for this week with the work's trip to France - I will come to that in a bit) so just take it one day at a time. There are so many lovely people on here who all want to help and support, without judging. I'm sure it will help you achieve your goals.

    Welcome also Thrifty Fifty

Well done to all on their weightloss, I am waiting for Sunday before I jump on the scales... suspect I might have put some lbs on though! never mind!

Miss P - so sorry to hear about your friend & trouble with the outlaws :( Hope things start to improve very soon. I, too, very much enjoy reading your posts, hope you'll keep em coming!

Well... France was not AF... then again I knew it wouldn't be so I don't feel toooo bad! We went out for a meal on the evening that we stayed over which was lovely.. but we did get through 2 bottles of wine between the 3 of us, and then the lovely waiter brought us a decanter of cognac (free!) of which we each had a small(ish) glass. Still, we got to see some of the sights of Paris, the Eiffel tower was all lit up in sparkly lights and looked beautiful. All presentations went really well and flight home was on time, so perfecto! The best thing was that I bought a bottle of wine in the duty free. At the back of my mind I was sure I was going to open it for a cheeky glass when I got home, but when I did get home I didn't actually feel like it! And for the first time in I don't know how long, the bottle remained unopened last night :T I can't tell you how proud I feel of myself. I'd had a small glass of wine on the plane, which usually just makes me want to drink more, so in a way, it's even more of an achievement! One of the things I've always struggled with is, if it's there I'll drink it. So it felt like a massive achievement the fact that it's still there after 2 evenings where I could have easily cracked it open. :A

Anyway.. sorry all for the mahoosive long rambly post but I've been away for over a week! I guess I'd better update my targets...

5 AF please Shaggy and I'll be back on the 4-day challenge next week please Pen.

    Wishing everyone a happy weekend,
    Bear xx

6 for me but I think I've been too ambitious. I should aim for 16 this month rather than 22. Heaven knows how I thought I might make 22.
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

What a week. Completely knackered :(. I am not going to the shop this weekend. It will be a store cupboard challenge for all of next week.

    Declaring 11 please Shaggy
    :)

  • I wasn't AF yesterday. We had friends round for takeaway, so had some wine. Had a rubbish nights sleep and felt carp all day today! So very tired tonight with a bath and early night planned.

    7 for me please Shaggy.

Couldn't face wine tonight and I've a busy day tomorrow, so don't want to be bleary eyed :D
    Need to start again :o

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
