Orange lied about line rental amount
We switched an orange pay as you go to an orange pay monthly, for DH to use at the end of July. I phoned and spoke to orange and they gave me a deal for a £22.50 line rental package. I had to wait for DH to get home to confirm he wanted to go ahead and they phoned me back and we set it up. We recieved the phone and DH phoned orange to check the amount he was going to be charged as there was no paperwork with the phone and again orange confirms it was £22.50.
DH has now been billed for two months and the direct debit was more than expected, so he phoned orange. They are now claiming that the £22.50 was only for the first month and it is £27.50 after that. They did not tell us that at any time when we where setting it up . Where do we stand on this??

Do you have any paperwork that states that it's £22.5o for the life of the contract ?0

Request them to play the original recording to you explaining line rental at £22.50 for first month and £27.50 thereafter. Moreover, you can cancel the contract for mis-selling, instead of fighting mis-pricing.Do you have any paperwork that states that it's £22.5o for the life of the contract ?
I insisted on getting written contract from orange few posts, few days back and I was questioned for this.
The same happened to me and luckily, I got written contract. It was those days when people were cancelling orange in droves,

You can't cancel the contract for mis-selling unless you can prove it was mis-sold, and if you don't have any paperwork thats gonna be tricky. They don't record every single one of the three million calls a month that they receive so there's a good chance they won't have a recording of the call either0

For anything critical like this I always ask for the details to be logged on the notepad on my account and take the name and extention number of the person I'm speaking to. I give it 15 minutes and call back and ask them to check the notepad to see if the note is there and agrees.0

I would take the stance that they show me where they have a deal that is £22.50 for first month and then £27.50 afterwards.
That seems a strange amount too. What tariff/deal did they give you? Was it a standard one with a "loyalty" discount or what?
You should also ask a supervisor to read back to you the notes on the account when you switched. Also check just how long you have been contracted for as that may be wrong too.0 -
seeing as Orange don't do a £27.50 a month tariff, is it possible that you're on a £25 tariff, discounted by 10% to £22.50, but then you've got a £5 a month addon (internet for example) that was free for the first month? If so, maybe you could cancel the addon?0
